AEROSPACE INDUSTRY APPLAUDS BC NDP PLATFORM COMMITMENTS Oct. 7, 2020 – The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada-Pacific today applauded Premier John Horgan and the BC NDP for its recognition of the value of BC’s aerospace industry in its election campaign platform. “We are encouraged to see Premier Horgan and the BC NDP identify aerospace as a sector that will be crucial to the province’s economic recovery,” said Mike Mueller, Senior Vice-President, AIAC Pacific. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the government of British Columbia and working to ensure the creation of highly skilled, well-paying jobs in every region of the province.” The BC NDP platform today outlined a commitment to work with the industry to implement an industrial strategy that will include aerospace, investment in training, and partnership with industry to promote BC’s aerospace sector on the world stage. ADSE soars to new heights in 2017

The 2017 Aerospace, Defence and Security Expo (ADSE), August 10-11 at TRADEX in Abbotsford, hit a new high in 2017 with record attendance, a line-up of high-profile, industry, military and government speakers, a sold-out trade show, and an announcement regarding federal funding for ADSE and support for a Western Canadian presence at aerospace events in 2017 and 2018. BC Budget 2017 Invests in Aerospace Jobs and Growth

Province continues partnership with AIAC Pacific to grow BC’s aerospace industry. The aerospace industry’s important contributions to British Columbian jobs and economic prosperity were once again recognized in the 2017 provincial budget, announced by Finance Minister Mike de Jong.  Budget 2017 continues the government’s 5-year, $5 million commitment to develop and grow the aerospace industry in BC.  Through this investment, AIAC Pacific will continue to work with government and other partners to build a unified and sustainable aerospace cluster in B.C. that creates high-value employment and innovative, export-intensive companies.
