Avcorp acquires Hitco Carbon Composites

Avcorp Industries Inc. of Delta, B.C. recently announced it will purchase the assets of the division of SGL’s subsidiary Hitco Carbon Composites Inc. (“Hitco”) which produces composite parts for commercial and military aerostructures. This includes all inventories, equipment, tooling and other fixed assets, intellectual property, contractual rights, good will, accounts receivable, and work in progress. Read more here.

Viking expands Twin Otter Series 400 international sales network to include Korea, Baltic States

Viking Air Limited of Victoria, British Columbia, has assigned Hanbaek Aerospace of Seoul, South Korea, as the Twin Otter Series 400 sales representative for the Republic of Korea (ROK). Hanbaek will be responsible for all new commercial and military sales of the Series 400 Twin Otter aircraft in-country. The UK-based Liftec Limited will represent the Twin Otter Series 400 in Eastern Europe, CIS (excluding Russia), and the Baltic States. Liftec will be responsible for all new commercial and military sales of the Series 400 Twin Otter aircraft throughout its region. Read more about Hanbaek’s assignment. Cascade Aerospace delivers 100th CC-130 to Royal Canadian Airforce

Cascade Aerospace, an Operating Unit of IMP Aerospace & Defence, today celebrated the 100th delivery of a CC-130 Hercules aircraft from its base in Abbotsford, British Columbia to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) following scheduled maintenance. The aircraft will be returned to service to continue its role as one of Canada’s premier long range Fixed Wing Search and Rescue aircraft. Read More.

Pacific Sky Aviation reaches program milestone towards Twin Otter Series 400 Flight Simulation Centre

In partnership with the National Research Council (NRC) in Ottawa, Pacific Sky has just completed the first of two phases of flight testing on the new Twin Otter Series 400 aircraft manufactured by Viking Air Limited. After four weeks conducting over 800 ground and flight manoeuvres, the aircraft performance data collected by NRC will be submitted to TRU Simulation + Training in Montreal, the simulator manufacturer. TRU Simulation will then use the data to build and prepare the new Series 400 Twin Otter Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for qualification by Transport Canada to the highest regulatory standard currently available. Known as “Level D”, this highest standard of FFS will place the new Twin Otter simulator in a league of its own with respect to realism and quality of training for the wheeled version of the airplane.
